When you have to use disposables

Andrea KeirsteadI'm a middle-school teacher, and I try to have whole-grain cereal available in my room for starving teenagers. After seeing a kid reach into the container, lick his fingers, and reach in again, I knew I had to have separate serving dishes. Somewhere, I had read a tip from a mother of toddlers about using coffee filters as snack bowls. They work great, are inexpensive, and use a great deal less paper. It's possible to buy them unbleached, too.

Lights!

Plastic bags

Toni MogensenYou now the drill:pack you lunch put all your lunch foods each in individual plastic throw-away bags.Well what you should really do is spend an extra buck or so and buy the more expensive and sturdy bags that will last longer. Then when you are at lunch and you are finished with your meal DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR BAGS!!!!Empty out the crumbs and put the bag back into your luch box(make sure you lunch box is reuseable.)when you get home rinse out the plastic bag, and if you think its necissary flip your bag inside-out and pace it over a bottle or can that you are going to recycle to let it dry. Then, once dry, flip the bag right side in again and pack yourself a green lunch to enjoy tomorrow.
